In a heart-racing thriller described as Falling Skies meets
The Walking Dead, Jennie struggles to find a safe place for what’s left of her
family. But it seems as though there is no place sacred, no place secure. First
the aliens attacked the sun, making it dimmer, weaker, and half what it used to
be. Then they attacked the water supply, killing one-third of Earth’s
population with a bitter contaminate. And when they unleash a new terror on
humankind, the victims will wish for death, but will not find it…When the world
shatters to pieces around her, will Jennie find the strength she needs to keep
going?
Let me just say that zombies are not my thing. I got a chance to beta and ARC of Sanctuary months ago. Pauline is a good friend of mine and I'm a huge fan of her writing, so I decided to read something other than my norm.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I could not put the book down and I will tell you that I am very hard to hook. And this was a zombie novel that I could not put down. I was also scared. The story was so realistic as we follow Jennie and her journey, and Hugh and his. I would step out of my house and listen for that awful sound and look around for zombies. THAT IS HOW MUCH REALITY AND FICTION BLURRED IN MY MIND.
It was original and I'd never thought of end times events in the Bible in that way before. Super creative and I just loved this book. You should read it, even if you think you don't like zombies.
